Vote ALEX JUNGELING #1 for VP Communications and Media - Bringing FRESH faces and FRESH ideas to Hertfordshire Students’ Union
I’m Alex, hoping to have a positive impact on student experience. I’ve always been involved in the SU, being on the Media committee, Drama committee, helping start up the volunteering group Marrow, and working in the SU for two years.
|Joining media was one of the first things I did at University, with the little experience I had, and since has played a big part in my life. I have grown and learnt with Trident, and know I can have a positive impact on the Union and student life from it.
||I’d continue the work of this years VP, to enhance and better media. I want to improve communication between the University, union and students, ensuring that student wants and needs stay the focus of the union and the forefront of decisions. I’d bring fresh ideas to the role, and my extensive experience so far within the Union, along with my constant commitment to it, would make me an excellent VP Communications and Media.
I want the views, wants and needs of students to remain the union’s focus. It’s vital the student voice is heard, and the Elected Officers are the key link with students. I’d ensure there’s allotted office time dedicated to students, and weekly availability of officers put up for students.
Part of my role involves supporting all officers with their communications to students. I believe this is crucial in promoting the Union, and allowing more student engagement with officers.
Events held by societies, volunteer groups and sports teams need promoting. I’d want more coverage, using the screens around campus, ensuring people know about upcoming events or matches, along with any results and accomplishments, recognising student achievement.
I’d carry on this years VP’s work improving media. I’m aware of a many changes, voted for by members, that would be excellent progress for media, and I’d ensure these were followed through, and media bettered. I also want to push Trident Media further out across the University, making sure people hear it, see it and want to be part of it, as it’s a resource for students that could make a huge difference, if used to it’s full potential.
The role of Elected Officers is to work together, as well as with the rest of the Union, to make student life better. I’ll work with the other officers to ensure this happens; improving communications and ensuring the student voice is heard.
