Instructing, Racing, Shredding POW, you name it - if it involves snow, I'm in.
I feel I will be an ideal choice for the position of Vice-Chair. I am a passionate skier and would like to involve myself further whilst here at University. I qualified as a ski instructor for my winter season in Kitzbühel, Austria, home of the famous Hahnenkamm downhill. This season on the slippery stuff only fuelled my passion and gave me plenty of unique experiences, such as preparing the WC courses, and helping start an instructor training company.
I want to be on the committee so that I can influence what happens at the University to benefit all Snow sports enthusiasts, whether you’ve never given it a go, but want to, or if you’re a seasoned pro. I want to introduce regular race training so that we can take a team to BUSC events. I would also like to look into the possibility of instructor training for those wanting to become instructors, giving you further employment possibilities should you want to have a gap year after uni, or get some part-time employment whilst at uni.
I will use my contacts both in the UK and abroad such as Australia, NZ, Austria, Japan and Canada to bring added perks and advice to HUSKIS members on ski locations, equipment, jobs, training and travel. I hope to use some of these contacts for sponsorship of the HUSKIS.
