AINT NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH. JOIN THE JENNARATION.
Some of you may not know who I am… So firstly let me start by telling you that saying the best things come in small packages, that’s true. I’m less than 5ft tall, you’ll probably loose me in the forum and then find me at the bar but I’m kind of a big deal. I’ve spent the past year studying abroad in America where I was voted Miss International, I have an award to prove it, the summer before that I travelled Australia and the year in between I was a part of the HUSKIS committee.
My experience as Media and Treasurer was during the best year HUSKIS had for participation and events than in previous years gives me strong standing as a candidate for the role as president, I am passionate about the society and I want to continue the possitive work of the committee during the next accademic year offering a bigger and better trip to the BUCS BUDS competition in Edinburgh which you all missed out on this year and not one but TWO trips to the alps. Shamelessly I will be picking resorts based on whether or not I can spell them.
This is all possible by the contacts I have made in the previous years, I have a good relationship with those at NUCO travel and after making friends with like minded students on Snowsports committees at Middlesex and Brunel Universities we hope to offer a combined trip from the M25 Snowsports Club which will make the second trip much more feasible. I’ve also worked closely with the SU staff and am aware of the procedures there, in fact I was also one of four students at Herts shortlisted for the student leadership award in 2015 as well as club of the year and committee of the year. I didn’t win anything.
You see, most of my life the words "it's not arrogant if it's true" were apparent, until I took to the slopes, where in 2013 I found I was the worst boarder and in 2015 also the worst skiier on the mountain yet even with a lost ski boot and dislocated knee I still managed to have the best week away because what I lack in shredding I make up for at the bar as part time partier and full time bantersaurus rex who is always up for a good time and loves meeting new people.
I will hold my hands up and say my year on committee wasn't all fun and games however and the issues we had and mistakes we made are the perfect learning curve needed to make this years HUSKIS society year the most incredible one. What a time.
