My name is Conner and I’m an astrophysics student. I’ve been a member of the pub society for over a year now and have made some great memories. I am applying for a committee role (chief whip), as I wish to give back to the society and make a great year of pub society, next academic year.

There is a fundraising aspect to the pub society, i.e. the beer festivals, that we host to make profits and use these profits in the pub society (subsidising pub society trips and meals). I have experience in this as I have helped with this year’s beer festival, as well as doing fundraising last year for charity.

The greatest aspect to the pub society, I find is the friendly atmosphere that feels like a family, which helps a lot of people through university, as it can be lonely at times. I feel strongly that this should keep going through the years and with the role as chief whip, I hope to transfer this friendly atmosphere to next year and I will make sure that everyone is having fun and is having a good time.

I feel very strongly about pub society, as I always put pub society first in my busy schedule and I always advertise the pub society around the university when I can, so that others can share the fun and excitement of the pub society.
