My name is Oluwaseyi Akanbi, popularly known as sheygirl, a final year law student. I’m currently your Postgraduate Students’ Officer and I was the deputy chair of the students’ ideas forum now known as the student council. I have been involved with the university as a student ambassador and I have also been involved in some community projects as a Resident Representative Community Officer. I believe that with the skills that I have accumulated over the years in my experience as: a student, an elected officer within the student union and as a student staff, I will be efficient in my post as VP Education & Welfare!

Postgraduate Students’ Officer
I am currently the Postgraduate Students’ Officer and I represent Postgraduate students. I have been able to convey issues postgraduate students are facing to the relevant and appropriate authorities. I am also in the process of creating more exciting events for Postgraduate Students before the end of my tenure.
Independent Deputy Chair of the Students Ideas Forum
Facilitate the smooth running of the students' ideas forum. This experience gives me the attributes of a good leader therefore gaining different skills such as interpersonal skills, public speaking, presentation skills, problem solving and ability to persuade and lobby for an objective to be met.
I worked as a Fresher’s Angel this academic year and I assisted new students in settling into university life and environment
My involvement with Hatfield Community:
Community Support Officer
I have been involved in different projects within Hatfield community including community litter pick up.
Create more awareness on both mental and physical health.
Ensure that the university will continue to improve teaching facilities and methods in order for students to have the best learning experience possible.
Lobby for great learning and teaching experience, assessment and feedback.
Main point of contact within the student union for all students on academic related matters and concerns
Provide information for students with dyslexia and specific learning disabilities with relevant information on the support and assistance provided by the university.
