Putting Students First #VoteMuntasir2016
I am Muntasir Rahman and I am running for Vice President-Education and Welfare. I am currently in my final year of studying joint honours in Business and Economics. I am an active student rep and am a firm believer in the fact that there is always room for improvement. As a health and fitness freak and a sports enthusiast, I have developed a can-do mentality which I will use to continue helping this university since I have a lot to offer to the students of Herts!
Why I’m standing for VP-Education and Welfare
I care about student’s needs, especially as we are now paying enormous fees. Education is fundamental as it shapes your future and I want everyone to receive the best education. From a welfare perspective, I wish to see every student enjoy their time at university and make it memorable. University is more than just about geting a degree!
- I will push for a social area on the De Havilland Campus.
- I intend to make the service provided by Uno more efficient and reliable.
- Improve your learning experience to help you receive the best education possible.
- More cultural and multi-faith areas at the university.
There is a limited number of areas to socialise on De Havilland Camus compared to College Lane. Therefore I will push for a new social area on De Havilland as currently, many students socialise in the LRC.
Uno provide a service which thousands of students rely on to commute to university. In recent years, much has been undertaken to improve Uno’s service. I will work with Uno to substantially improve their services and address issues regarding delays, service regularity and make prices fair for all!
Improve your Educational Experience
Knowledge is one of the key aspects of life. The recent increase in university fees means students have higher expectations, hence I will ensure students receive the best education possible at UH. I intend to make your education at university more enjoyable and engaging. I will push for more lectorials as this enables tutors to devote more time to students and I hope to help introduce more lecture podcasts and recordings to make revision more efficient. I pledge to try to improve the wifi service at Herts.
Multi-faith and Cultural Space
With over 25,000 students, The University of Hertfordshire is incredibly proud of its diversity and global community. I believe more multi-faith events are required along with further space in order to bring people from different cultures and religions together on both campuses.
Why vote for me?
I am passionate about helping others and enhancing your experience whilst at university by ensuring you receive the best education to help you become fully equipped graduates and ensure you enjoy university life. I speak with my heart and not just my mouth!
