If I win this election, you win your vision.
Who is she?
Hey everyone, my name is Katherine Shiner and I am running in the 2016 student elections for the role of ‘Humanities school officer’. I am in my first year and studying English Literature, Philosophy and Creative writing.I’m fairly organised and have a passion for getting things done. I like to also think I am friendly and approachable which I think are qualities needed for this role.
I’m not really a political character, However, I’d love to represent the students as I believe it is really important that we have our say and get things changed whilst we are here to make the ‘student experience’ the best it can possibly be.
But why me?
I’ve been a student rep since September and before university I have been a student ambassador at sixth form. Not quite the same as this but I’d like to think it shows I’m dedicated to helping students.
Why I believe you should vote for me
Whether you enjoy studying or not it is why we are all here. I want to work with the students in order to make sure we can all get the best out of this university
Issues I want to try and help change...
Feedback-Whether you are prepared and write assignments when they are set, or pulling all nighters in the LRC the night before. We all want our feedback to be on time and meaningful. Vote for me and I will try my hardest to get this changed for us!
Freshers week- Partying all night long, waking up thinking “what the hell happened last night” after a night at the forum, and then having to go to lectures and presentations barely being able to concentrate. Not the greatest mix.. let’s have a week purely for partying maybe the week before and then crack on with our studies. Sound like a plan?
I am committed character and this was proved when i wore a shirt saying ‘Vote for Katherine Shiner’ to Cheeky Wednesday at the Forum, and asking people to vote for me and talking to the students on what they would want changed. If that doesn’t say committed then i dont know what does...
