Who am I? • My name is Safwaan Choudhury, I am a BA Marketing student in my penultimate year at UH. Alongside my studies, I run my own award-winning takeaway business. I am an innovative entrepreneur & philanthropist, serving as ambassador & welfare secretary for 2 charities in the UK and Bangladesh.
Why am I standing? • I am standing to be elected as your Student Trustee to serve students and give back to the university that has given me so much. I am passionate about student welfare, and as a commuting student, particularly know the difficulties faced by commuters.
Why vote for Safwaan? • The role of Student Trustee is voluntary, but very important in ensuring that the Students’ Union is compliant & secure for the future. I believe my experience as a successful restaurateur & young businessman give me the edge over my fellow candidates in contributing sustainable decision making; whilst incorporating the views of my fellow students to ensure the SU is in the best interests of students.
My manifesto is simple: "to be of service to students".
