If you have been affected by a crime, as a victim, witness, friend or family member, Hertfordshire Beacon Victim Care Centre will be offering monthly surgeries, in partnership with the Hertfordshire SARC, bookable by appointment or drop in.

What: At Beacon, they believe that no victim should be left behind. Beacon supports victims and witnesses to cope and recover from the impact of crime, regardless of how long ago it happened or whether it was reported to the police or not. The team of dedicated and trained professionals will support you every step of the way.

The session at the Beacon drop-in will be held with a trained Victim Case Manager who will undertake a brief needs assessment to look at how you have been affected, and you then have the opportunity to be offered a case manager from Beacon for further support.

For more information about the service, download and read the information sheet.

Beacon is run by a charity called Catch 22, and is funded by the Police Crime Commissioner. They are independent from Hertfordshire police, and offer a confidential and free of charge service to all staff and students.

When: A selected Wednesday each month during term-time (check the SU events listings). Pre-booked appointments of 50mins run from 10:00-13:00, or you can drop-in for advice from 13:00-16:30.

Where: Students' Union Office, De Havilland Campus (we are running the service from our confidential consultation room; just ask for the Beacon Drop-in at the De Hav SU Office Reception).

How: If you want to book an appointment, you can e-mail info@hertfordshirebeacon.org with a completed self-referral form or just drop-in on the day during the drop-in session (13:00-16:30).
