About the role: As a care worker you will be supporting individuals to remain independent in their own home. You will be supporting individuals with their personal care, helping them to get up and ready for the day, this might involve moving and handling equipment to help the individual do this, which you will have full training on.
About you: A full driving licence (and car) is essential for this post, you will be based in the community and help people to live independently at home. You will need to be of good character, friendly, sociable and have excellent communication skills. It is not necessary to have experience in care as we will provide all the training you need to become a care assistant.
About us: We are a Home Care Agency that provides care to people who are living with illness or disease and wish to maintain their independence as much as possible at home. We provide visits throughout the day from 7am right the way through to 10pm; we also provide night sits too. It is important to us that we provide a high standard of care to our service users and provide a good working environment for our employees also. We pride ourselves in providing a minimum of 1 hour visits to provide high quality person centred care.
Working hours: Your working hours will be Sunday’s between 7am – 11am. You will be visiting service users within this shift to provide a minimum of 1 hour care. However if you are available to finish later or start earlier and would like to increase your availability we can discuss this further and adapt your working day. You will be required to work a minimum of 4 hours every other weekend, this can be a Saturday and/or Sunday.
Working Area: You will be working in the community in and around Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans, Knebworth and Harpenden travelling to our service user’s homes. Your working area will depend on position applied for.
