Find out more about your 2021 - 2022 Elected Officer team

Back in March, you voted for your new Elected Officer team. The officers are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get everything ready for September, so we thought it was about time you got to know them a little better.

Rhiannon, President

Before becoming President, Rhiannon studied Criminal Justice and Criminology and has just finished her degree! Her hobbies include running, photography, and make-up.

Events that have occurred nationally and globally over the past year have shaped one of Rhiannon’s projects this year. She wants to work with the University to make sure all students have a positive experience, looking at topics like harassment, promoting respectful behaviours, as well as promoting support services already available at the University like Report & Support.

Junaid, Vice President Activities

Like Rhiannon, Junaid is also graduating this year. He studied Mechanical Engineering and enjoys going to the gym and playing FIFA in his spare time, he also loves food!

Being part of societies over the last couple of years, Junaid knows how important they can be to help reduce loneliness and bring students together. His key project will look at different social opportunities for students, as well as encouraging students to get involved in sports and societies, plus the added value they bring.

Prosasti, Vice President Community

Currently a Masters student, Prosasti is taking a year out from her International Business studies to be your VP Community. Away from her role, she enjoys reading and painting.

Following on from continued student feedback and the work previous teams have started, security will be a key focus for Prosasti. Sitting on University working groups and committees, Prosasti is looking forward to utilising students’ voices to enable this work to move forward.

Zara, Vice President Education

Finally, your VP Education, Zara. Zara was studying Physics and will be graduating this year. When she isn’t representing you, she enjoys photography, reading, and bingeing Netflix.

Zara is looking forward to starting one of her main projects linked with blended learning. This project will look at how the University can enhance digital capabilities by working with schools, departments, School Community Organisers, and student reps to make sure student feedback is heard.
