Go Herts Award

Graduate with more than a degree!

Go Herts Award

If you're doing something outside of your course which contributes to your employability, the Go Herts Award is perfect for you. As a Students' Union, we're delighted that so many of the services we run and roles we support can help students on their journey to attain a Go Herts Award. From our Buddy Scheme through to Volunteering and everything in between, by engaging with many of our services you'll find yourself in a great position to secure the award

  • Buddy Volunteer
  • You are by definition a volunteer! All the hours you spend on your role count towards the role (catching up with your Buddy, training etc.)
  • School Community Organiser
  • You're spending heaps of time on student representation by meeting with your School of Study & Students' Union, organising community-building events and actively seeking feedback
  • Society Committee Member
  • All the hours you spend behind the scenes running your society count as volunteering! Think of all those committee meetings, training sessions, events you organise and so on
  • Society Member
  • Being a society member is an eligible extra-curricular activity. This means all the hours you spend enjoying the activities and events that your society runs count towards the award
  • Student Rep
  • You're doing loads on the ground to help with student representation - reaching out to students on your course and amplifying their voices, attending Programme Committee Meetings, working closely with your SCO and so on
  • Volunteer
  • Volunteering comes in many forms. Whether you volunteered once or twice here and there or you're a regular, you can use your hours towards the award
