Rated 5/5 (1 person). Log in to rate.

The General Election is taking place on Thursday 12th December. This means you have until Tuesday 26th November to register to vote, but we suggest that you do it now! Once you have registered you won’t need to register again, unless you change your current address.

Students and young people make up a large part of the British population, so it is critical for you to register to vote in order to have your say.

All you need to register is:

  • Your national insurance number. You can find it here

  • 5 Minutes.

  • Then head here to register.

A few things to note: As a student, you can choose to vote at either your home or University address. To register to vote, you must be a UK or Irish citizen, or an EU or qualifying Commonwealth citizen living in the UK. Unsure? Find out if you are eligible to vote here.

Don’t be silenced by letting this opportunity pass you by. For more information on the election, you can visit here, and for a simple guide on the 2019 election read this article.
