The officer team have spoken to the Vice-Chancellor about the University lobbying the private landlords and we are hoping to see what position the university takes in a couple of days.
We are continuing to lobby with the private providers directly, asking if they can help students in the time of need.
Although we are doing our best to fight for this we also want our students to understand that we have little or no say over what private landlords do. All we can do is lobby for this, which we will continue to do. In this case, unless a provider agrees to release students from their contracts, they are still liable to pay for the remaining of their time.
