Kyran O'Neill: Engineering and Computer Science, Digital Technology (Computer Technology and Networks)
Kyran got a range of feedback from students including timetabling issues, deadline bunching and more course specific issues to do with software. He used different methods to collect his feedback including speaking with his cohort during lectures and putting together a petition showing the need for timetabling change. As a result, timetables have been changed, which has condensed the timetable allowing for an entire day for the final year project. Furthermore, software issues are being investigated and tested as well as allowances made for the issues during marking. So, in summary Paul has been really engaged with his role and thought of different methods to collect feedback and strengthen the need for change in certain areas. His actions have also lead to change which has benefited his cohort and demonstrated the effectiveness of the Student Rep system.
Beyza Kayali: Creative arts, Interior architecture and design, Under Grad 2nd Year
Beyza used different methods to ask their course mates how they were finding things and as a result collected some detailed feedback on confusing communication, organisational and timetabling issues. As a result of collecting this feedback and communicating it at a PCM, it was agreed that the issues raised will be followed up on and the necessary people contacted to resolve the issues. So, to summarise Beyza has been proactive in getting feedback and although the changes being made are not completely obvious, bringing the issues they have brought to the attention of staff is really beneficial to their cohort and again demonstrating the effectiveness of the Rep system
