Fancy doing some gardening and growing your own vegetables on the weekends? Then come and give a hand with the Hertfordshire Students' Union's Allotment Society. Whether you're an avid gardener or have never touched a trowel before, all are welcome!
The society doesn't run over summer, but it will start up again in late September/early October. The allotments are found next to Telford Court Common Room on College Lane campus and members meet up every week on Saturday afternoons from 12:00 till 15:00. But if you don't have mushroom in your diary, that doesn't matter. You can spend however much time you want to help out.
Gardening is a great excuse to get outdoors and helps improve your mental wellbeing. You'll also learn plenty of new skills that you can put on your CV and because this is a student-led society, if you help out enough, you can potentially be eligible for a Go Herts Award!
All seeds, equipment and gloves are provided, so all you need to bring is yourself and a pair of sturdy boots you don't mind getting mucky.
If you're interested, please lettuce know by signing up for free and if you have any questions, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org
