Society Affiliation

 

Can't find the society you're looking for? Why not start one from scratch!

 

To create a new society, we need a minimum of 3 students to form the committee. This will be in the roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. When at least 3 students are happy to sit on the committee, you can fill out the form below.

 

When you have completed/submitted the form, it will be reviewed by our Vice President Activities and Student Engagement Manager. When they have made a decision, a member of the Student Engagement team will be in touch to let you know whether your application has been successful or not.

If your society is affiliated, you will be informed about how to book in for an induction session. All committee memebrs must attend this so we can get your society off the ground smoothly! You will later be invited in for a training session so that you know all the ins and outs necessary.

 

Please note that you cannot return to this form at a later date - please make sure you're ready to fill it out in full before beginning. If you have any questions, concerns or issues with the form, please email societies@hertfordshire.su and we will do our best to advise you.

Society Contact Information:
You must create a generic email address which will be used by students to contact your society. All email addresses must state your society name (e.g. lawsociety@hotmail.com). It is also advised that your society creates a Facebook and a Twitter account to promote your society and gain the interest it needs. Again, the account name must include your society name (e.g. Drama Society).

Please note:  Once you have set this membership fee it cannot be changed after the submission of this form. This is because it must be set up on our online payment facility, our main database, and our in-house tills system.

Please state your membership fee for the next academic year (between £1 and £20)

Every society get their own society webpage when they are affiliated, here you can upload what image you'd like to go on your webpage. This can be changed at any time after your induction and you gain admin access to your society webpage.
