The objective of University of Hertfordshire Law Society is to provide you with the skills and knowledge to prepare you for your career after you graduate to bridge the gap between your degree and career.
We place an emphasis on diversity which stems from the fact that our Law school is extremely diverse as we have a high number of BME students that we want to recognise, and my aim as Student Ambassador for Aspiring Solicitors will be working to help promote diversity in the legal profession.
I'll also be the Campus Representative for University of Law and alongside us we have a BPP Liasion Officer, a Westlaw student associate and a Lexis Nexis representative. As a member, you'll be connected to all of these organisations to provide the relevant skills you need in your degree and further in practice.
We plan to get in some guest speakers in to give advice for legal CVs and applications for training contracts, vacation schemes, pupillages, and mini-pupillages.
We will be offering: quiz nights, movie nights, trips to courts, a trip to Brussels, and the most anticipated event for the year, the Law Ball!
You will also have the opportunity to network with legal professionals and socialise and meet new people from your cohort.
