The Student Leaders Development Programme offers a personal development opportunity to all Student Leaders at HSU.
Brand new for this academic year, the SLDP is exclusive to students that have a leadership role with the Students' Union. This includes Buddy Volunteers, Elected Officers, School Community Organisers, Society Committee Members, Student Reps and student staff. It's essentially a training programme with a range of workshops that will help with your personal and professional development. The programme is designed to develop the transferable skills needed to be successful within your role, enhance your employability and encourage interaction across the multiple positions of student leadership supported by the SU. You can also use any hours you spend attending workshops to count towards the Go Herts Award.
To complete the SLDP, Student Leaders must complete our compulsory workshop (Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity) and an additional 3 workshops of their choice. Students are welcome to complete all 6 workshops but only the asssessment for 4 workshops will be marked and count towards the award. Please only sign up to workshops if you intend to complete the assessments assigned to each one. Please note that the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Workshop will be launched in Semester B and all of the elective workshops will be repeated then too. You can find out more about each workshop below and sign up to upcoming workshops/submit any relevant assessments. Want to see all the workshops in one place or cancel your signup to a certain session? You can do so here. Click here for more information about the programme as a whole.
