The Student Leaders Development Programme offers a personal development opportunity to all students involved in a voluntary or paid role at Hertfordshire Students' Union.
Brand new for the 2020-21 academic year, the SLDP is an exciting opportunity for all of our student leaders to get involved with. It's essentially a free training programme with a range of workshops that will help with your personal and professional development. Completing four workshops - and passing the relevant assessments - will result in an award that can be popped onto your CV. The programme is designed to develop the skills needed to be successful within your role, enhance your employability and encourage interaction across the multiple positions of student leadership supported by the SU.
The Student Leaders Development Programme is exclusive to our School Community Organisers, Society Committee Members, Student Reps and student staff.
Student leaders that wish to get involved with the programme will have to complete four workshops. The Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity workshop is compulsory for all candidates. Students must then select a further three workshops to complete. Students are welcome to complete all 6 workshops but only the asssessment for 4 workshops be marked and count towards the award. Each workshop will be concluded with an assessment. Students must pass the assessment for four workshops to complete the programme and receive their award. Levels for each assessment are Pass, Commended and Highly Commended. Details for each of the assessments will be posted soon
So what do you get at the end of this? Students who complete the Student Leaders Development Programme will be able to pop the award on their CV to impress potential employers. In addition to developing skills in your chosen areas, your personal and professional development will also be huge, as you're able to build on those ever-important transferable skills
