Interested in volunteering? Below are some of our most frequently asked questions.
If there's anything else you'd like to know, don't hesitate to get in contact with us!
How do I apply for a role?
- 1. Set up your Volunteer Profile
- 2. Find the role for you and contact us to register your interest!
- 3. We will be in touch about what to do next
- 4. When the time comes, we will leave it to you to meet the organisation or student-led project leaders and get going
What skills do I need?
Most of our volunteering roles don't require any particular skills other than sheer enthusiasm. Any roles that do have certain requirements will clearly state these in the role description. Many organisations offer initial training in addition to ongoing support.
How much time would I need to give?
We know how valuable your time is to you as a student. We advise you not to spread yourselves too thin. That is, don't commit to lots of voluntary roles if you aren't able to sarcrifice lots of time. Each role will have different time commitments, so it's worth checking if the role you are interested in is feasible for you. Volunteering doesn't need to be too time-consuming at all.
What happens if I can’t find a suitable role?
If after searching you cannot find a suitable role then get in contact with us and we can help you find the right opportunity. Alternatively we can support you in setting up your own voluntary enterprise. This could be in the form of a student-led project, for example.
