Fancy doing some gardening and growing your own vegetables on the weekends? Then come and give a hand with the Hertfordshire Students' Union's Allotment Project. Whether you're an avid gardener or have never touched a trowel before, all are welcome!
After a long period of inactivity, we're getting ready to restart the allotments to plant some vegetables and fruit before the end of the semester. The allotments are found next to the AstroTurf pitches on College Lane campus and we're planning to meet up every week on Saturday afternoons. But if you don't have mushroom in your diary, that doesn't matter. You can spend however much time you want to help out.
Gardening is a great excuse to get outdoors and helps improve your mental wellbeing. You'll also learn plenty of new skills that you can put on your CV and because this is a student-led volunteer project, if you help out enough, you can potentially be eligible for a Go Herts Award!
All seeds, equipment and gloves are provided, so all you need to bring is yourself and a pair of sturdy boots you don't mind getting mucky.
As mentioned above, there are no official dates for the project's start yet. But if you're interested, please lettuce know by signing up for free and you'll hear from us by email when we are ready to start gardening!

See you there!
