Thinking of standing? Here's everything you need to know!
Why should you stand in the Elections?
Full-time and part-time roles give you the opportunity to lead the Students' Union, campaign for positive change and represent students within the Union, University and wider community.
Depending on which role you take on, you could be responsible for the strategic direction of the Union, running events, campaigns and projects or meeting with University management regularly. Full-time roles are paid, with an elected term of one year and part-time roles are voluntary and flexible, fitting around your study schedule.
What do past officers say?
Still need convincing? Past Officers around the country have gone on to fantastic things have gone on to fantastic things! Here are some testimonials from previous Elected Officers at Hertfordshire Students' Union:
Here Jon Snow, Alistair Stewart, Tommy Sandhu and many others tell the NUS what being a Students' Union Officer meant to them and their career:

2. When you submit your manifesto you can include a short video that is up to 90 seconds long. You'll have 500 words to write about yourself but make it as engaging as possible!
3. To head to a Candidate Information Session on one of the dates above as this is a compulsory meeting!
