New Nepali Flag instalment in the Street, DeHavilland

    Passed
    • Issues
Flag of Nepal in Dehavilland street flag display is not the correct size(compared to the others) and not visible to the public. These concerns were raised from the Nepali community and trying hard to address it since the last few years. This raised a concern of patriotism and equality (their flag being considered equal among other hundreds of flags displayed). The present flag is very small and cannot be visible to the public, they understand the issue is due to their structure of the flag(non-rectangular) but suggests requesting the university in installing a new flag which is visible and of the correct size(compared to others). The community aims in feeling belonged and recognised among the hundreds of the prestigious flags that are properly displayed *This issue is raised by the Milan and Ashish, committee members of Nepali Society on behalf of members and their citizens*

6:41pm on 23 Jan 19 I strongly support this initiative made by the Nepalese Society. With growing society members and presence of community in the society year on year; this a great action in encouraging community-ship within the society members and also a cause for celebration and acceptance of diverse culture in the University of Hertfordshire. My much appreciation to Amal Jolly and the Student Union for raising this issue

6:55pm on 23 Jan 19 This is ridiculous, surely there are better ways to showcase the flag than that tiny thing. I’m hurt. My little brother, who is 10, can do a better job knowing how to properly proportion the flag with other rectangular ones. Come on.
Raksha Limbu
7pm on 23 Jan 19 Well done for addressing this situation and we hope your SU sorts this out as soon as possible. Love and support from Aston Nepalese society! Jai Nepal!

6:08am on 24 Jan 19 It is only fair to size the nepalese flag the same as the rest - they are no less a country than any of the other countries whose flags are displayed. Please consider this request.

11:11pm on 25 Jan 19 I have seen the flag, and it is definitely something to be concerned about because it is indeed not satisfying by looking at other countries flags, even though it might !not have intended for any discrimination but I think it is the first thing that come to our mind m. Therefore, yes I agree that it to be taken seriously for the sake of pride and equality.

3pm on 26 Jan 19 The flag has to be changed but I just hope everyone will be happy with the change. The only way they can make the flag bigger and fit it with the other flags is by having a bigger Nepal flag hang vertically instead of horizontally.
Karan Jagdish Panchal
7:17pm on 26 Jan 19 The size of the flag needs to be bigger and should fit just like every other flag hanging in the De Hav Campus. I hope that no one will have any issue with it.
