External Trustee (Three positions available)
Hertfordshire Students' Union is a registered charity and the official representative voice for all students at the University of Hertfordshire. Our aim is to make student life at the University of Hertfordshire incredible.
We are governed by a Board of Trustees, made up of five elected officer trustees, three student trustees and four external trustees. We are looking for external trustees with significant experiences across a range of areas to help shape the look and feel of our organisation at a strategic level.
The position is voluntary (although reasonable expenses will be paid) and trustees are asked to attend six meetings per year – one of which is a day long strategy/team building day. The term of office is three years, and external trustees can serve a maximum of two terms. Our ideal candidate would have experience in at least one of the below areas:
- Organisational management or experience of governance
General business activities and income generation
- Human resources or organisational development
- Higher Education and Students' Unions in particular
- Strategic planning
- Legal knowledge or company/charity law

NON STUDENT CASUAL VENUE STAFF:
To work flexibly across two venues (Forum and EleHouse).
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- To serve customers on the bar and generally assist in the running of our venue and cleaning of the venue and bar.
- Night-time cloakroom and door:
- Assist in the assembly and take down of the Forum’s door entry setup. Serve customers on entry and in the cloakroom, and assist the Venue Management Team where necessary.
